Sun Wols was the previous champion of the Dragonic Heaven tournament. After he met Reiji, he immediately takes a liking to Reiji and calls himself "Reiji Ozora's Number One Fan".

Sun Wols was the previous champion of the Dragonic Heaven tournament. In his first appearance in the anime, he disguises himself and keeps his identity a secret by wearing a big dark blue hat and big orange sunglasses; in addition, he wears a toothy grin on his face and calls himself Taiyo. He finally reveals his true identity when him and his dragon save Reiji and his friends from three gang members and their dragons the night before the first round of the Dragonic Heaven. Sun Wols is very helpful to Reiji and his friends because of his knowledge of Rikyu. For example, later in the series, he tells them about Bloody Mary, a woman who was once a great dragon master. In the Dragonic Heaven tournament, Sun Wols' teammates and their dragons were easily defeated by Kohei's Raitonaitsunaito. In the anime, he loses to Kohei due to protecting one of his teammates from Raitonaitsunaito's attack.
